Shelby Township, MI - The Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and New England International Junior Shooting Sports announced today that they will be holding a Clay Shooting Clinic at Minute Man Sportsman's Club in Burlington, MA on October 29-30th.
Join this fun event and meet USA Shooting National Team members Corey Cogdell, Olympic Bronze Medalist from the 2008 Beijing games and Jon Michael McGrath, 2011 ISSF World Cup Gold Medalist. Atttendees will receive outstanding comprehensive training from the SCTP Directors of Development and Mass SCTP coaches.
This event is a chance for junior athletes to get some excellent coaching, break some clays, and get some great insight from the athletes attending and learn about how they started as an SCTP shooter and now are on the USA Shooting Team. Each junior athlete will have 3 hours of training; shoot 100 rounds of Trap, Skeet or Intl Double Trap. The fee is $75.00 for attending the event including your training, shells, targets and cookout.
Mass SCTP currently has 6 teams with over 100 athletes shooting clays. They want more kids to enjoy this great sport and be able to compete in their program. Are you a member of a gun club in New England that has a few juniors shooting clays? This is the time to join in and get an SCTP team started. Come out to this event with a few junior athletes get some training and learn more about SCTP. If you sign up as an SCTP team this weekend you will receive a generous endowment of $10,000.00 from the Midway USA Foundation for your new SCTP team.
Mass SCTP is looking to add more SCTP teams and this event is a perfect chance for you to talk to the SCTP Directors of Development, sign up your juniors, start your team and get some endowment money to jump start your program.
There will be a coaches clinic on Saturday and Sunday morning from 8 to 9:30 am with 3 members of USA Shooting/NRA National Coach Development Staff. This clinic will be a chance to exchange ideas and new techniques on coaching. Saturday and Sunday juniors can shoot in one of the 4 time slots, starting at 9:30 or 12:30.

SCTP is the Official Youth Development Clay Target Program for USA Shooting, the National Governing Body for Olympic shooting sports in the United States.
New England International Junior Shooting Sports is a non-profit organization that fosters and encourages national and/or international amateur target shooting sports competition (more specifically, amateur clay target shooting sports competitions), that conducts and engages in national and/or international amateur competition in the target shooting sports, that supports and/or develops amateur athletes for national and/or international competition in the target shooting sports, and that educates amateur athletes in the target shooting sports. The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) is responsible for all aspects of the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) across the United States, including participant registration, coaches, state coordinators, state and national championships, promotion, communications, websites, public relations and growth strategies The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation exists to raise funding and other resources for Youth Development Programs in the shooting sports industry.
SCTP is a youth development program where adult coaches and volunteers model sportsmanship, responsibility, honesty, ethics, integrity, and team work while using shooting sports programs to teach these and other positive life skills to SCTP athletes.

Save the date (4/25/09) and please come have some fun and help a few scouts get to camp this coming summer. See attachment for details. Pease note there is a $20 discount for individuals who sign up and pay in February and a $10 discount for individuals who sign up and pay by the end of March.
