The registration can be found on page 4 of our website, www.rockmountainclays.com for your convenience. We will also have Make-A-Break available, courtesy of D&G Traps. J&R BBQ will be cooking lunch for you. They will have beef brisket sandwich platters and beef rib platters. All slow smoke cooked with a Carolina sauce!!! MMMMMMM!! We can only estimate food by preregistrations. If you plan on attending, please let us know so they can prep enough food. See you in a couple weeks!!

Sunday, Oct 19 is our next fun shoot. The Whole Hog 100!! 100 targets, pulled pork BBQ with all the fixin's, and $5 into Lewis Class for $40. This is a non-NSCA event, just come and have fun!! As always, we request that if you plan on attending that you notify us so we have a head count for Pecos Bill to assure enough food for all that want lunch.

Fairfield County Fish & Game Protective Association

The Travelers held the first official small gauge shoot in the country and we have enjoyed not only the growth of the little guns within our club but also the fantastic inclusion of the small gauges across the country. Our handicap system has proven to be an equalizer when pitting the smaller gauges against the standard bearer, 20 gauge for this shoot. Twelve gauge shooters are welcome to participate for practice only. Come out and enjoy the fastest growing segment of Sporting Clays and engage your Talents within the magnificent colors that Mother Nature provides for us at this time of the year. Dust off that little gun and get it ready for the hunting season. Although this is billed as a “Championship” it is more of a fun day for all. If you don’t have a small bore gun, our members are always happy to share or lend a gun. You only have to provide the ammunition. Note your needs by checking off the appropriate box on the reservation form and you will be accommodated.

Be a part of a real FUN DAY. Don’t miss it.

Hard to believe it's almost November already!! With November comes our annual Fall 3-Bird shoot. Sunday, November 9th is the date. We will have 15 stations of 3-bird mania ready for your shotgun fun!!! We're sending out snail mail registrations to all NOT on our email list tomorrow. I'll attach the registration form to this email for your convenience. If for any reason you don't receive one in the mail or by the net, we have it posted on page 4 of our website. Long Islanders are Travelers in the truest sense. They load up their SUVs by dawns early light and head out for distant shores on the third Sunday of the month. By the time they pull into the parking lot they’re either hopped up on caffeine or their nerves are shot from crossing one bridge or another.  We're bringing the Travelers to Long Island for a little inter-club competition in "The Challenge: Islanders vs. Mainlanders".

Entry fee is $25.00 if you pre-register by 5 PM Saturday, November 15, the night before the shoot otherwise it's $30.00 the day of the shoot with no exceptions.

Special Note:
Prices are still climbing sky high on ammo and clay targets to the point now that we must either raise our Mini Shoot fees or cut back on prizes. Two cases of shells as prizes are now nearly $140.00. We have decided to restructure the prize give-a-way in a way that winners will only receive two (2) boxes now but there will be more winners per shoot.

If less than 20 shooters, we will draw 4 winners of two boxes of shells each, for every five (5) additional shooters we will add another winner of two (2) boxes of shells, so with at least 20 shooters, 5 winners, at least 25 shooters, 6 winners, at least 30 shooters, 7 winners, etc.

Anyone that wishes to shoot any mini shoot a second time may do so for $20.00 but you must let us know before the first mini shoot starts so we can assign a trapper in advance. Remember, please, you must let us squad you in advance.

The Rock / Pre-Christmas Fun Shoot

Come on out to "The Rock" for our pre-Christmas fun shoot!! Sunday, Dec 21 we will hold a Best gun of blind partner event that should be both interesting and a load of fun. After all the scoresheets are turned in, we will draw shooter numbers to put the "blind partners" together, then we will take the highest gun for each team per station for score. Everyone will shoot 100 targets, but the match will be based on the best 100 per team!! Cost is $35 and includes 100 birds, $5 into Lewis class and a lunch. We'll be serving our homemade soup and chili, MMMMMMM!! Food will be available for all that make the call, email or fax telling us they will be attending.

VNSP - The Holiday Blast

We are pleased to announce our final shoot of 2008! The Holiday Blast
200 bird fun shoot. This will be the weekend between Christmas and New
Years (Dec. 27 & 28). Attached is a flyer with all the details
regarding times, food, options and prizes. As noted on the flyer all
option prizes will be for the full two day shoot. Although, if you can
only make one day, there will be a separate 100 target Lewis class,
with non-cash prizes. The 100 target Lewis class will be combined
across both days (i.e. all that only shoot 100 targets on either Sat
or Sun.). There will also be a 200 target Lewis class, with non-cash
prizes, for those of you who shoot all 200 targets.

In other news, we have released our new website design with the same
address of www.vernonnational.com. As it is brand new there are some
fixes to be made yet. If there are specific problems that you find
while using the website please feel free to let me know. I have
started pages for friends and business information, if you would like
to be added to the list please send me your information. This is free,
however, if you have a website where you can link our site too that
would be appreciated.

Currently our hours are Sundays 9-1. Beginning January 3, 2009 we will
be open Saturdays 10-1 and Sundays 9-1. I will update you in the
spring when we plan to open for weekdays and evenings as well.

Any one wishing to join our mailing list (email) or have a friend that
might be interested please let me know.

Hope to see everyone for open shooting and at the Holiday Blast.
